Bread Pudding
I love baguettes and french bread but they go stale so quickly. Here is a quick recipe to use basically with any stale bread. I usually prepare everything in the evening, let it soak in the fridge over night and bake it in the morning; My kids love this bread pudding with maple syrup in the morning.
Ingredients:
- 1 french bread (french baguette) cut in cubes
- 4 eggs
- 5 cups milk
- 4 TBSP sugar
- 2 TBSP vanilla extract
- 1 TBSP butter at room temperature to butter the baking pan
- Optional – cinnamon / raisins to mix with the wet ingredients / powder sugar for serving / maple syrup for serving
Directions:
- Preheat oven at 400 F
- Set cut bread in a buttered baking pan
- Mix eggs + milk + 4 sugar + vanilla extract and pour everything over the bread
- Let it soak for about 15 minutes (or overnight if you want to have a quick breakfast), press it down with your fingers and bake it for about 25 minutes or until golden brown
- Dust powder sugar on top and serve warm / or you can serve with maple syrup
Enjoy!
